The first conversation
Scott Rheinlander is usually the first person at DTS a business owner talks to, and that first conversation sets the tone for everything after it. He has spent twenty-five years in enterprise technology, selling and leading the operations behind selling. The job, as he sees it, is not to move a product. It is to understand what a business is trying to do and then help it get there.
That instinct is why he joined DTS, a Midwest firm that believes in its people and the good we can do for the businesses we serve. He measures a good outcome by the problem solved, not the deal closed, which is exactly the person you want on the other side of a first call.
The experience behind the conversation
Scott has spent twenty-five years in enterprise technology, both carrying a number as a seller and running the revenue operations behind a sales team, the systems, data, and strategy that let one perform. That span took him through large technology companies, including Cisco, Salesforce, and Dell, and across the modern security and data tools a business actually runs on. He earned President’s Club as a seller and a President’s Award for business impact as an operations leader, and he keeps current cloud and data credentials so he stays fluent in the work, not just the pitch.
The logos matter less than what the span taught him: how a business really buys, where value is genuine and where it is just a slide, and how to tell the difference quickly. That is the judgment he brings to a first conversation.
How he works
Scott’s approach comes down to a few things he actually lives by. Listen more than you talk. Do less, then obsess, depth over scatter. And treat attitude as a choice you make every day.
The result is a partner who is easy to trust, because the conversation is about your business and not his quota. When the fit is right, he will tell you. When it is not, he will tell you that too.
