About Diverse Tech Services
What is Diverse Tech Services?
Diverse Tech Services (DTS) is an Indianapolis-based managed IT and cybersecurity provider for small and mid-size businesses across Indiana and the Midwest. We keep the technology your business runs on working, secure, and planned for what comes next.
What areas does DTS serve?
We are based in Indianapolis and serve businesses across Indiana and the wider Midwest. Most support is delivered remotely, and we come on-site when the work calls for hands on the hardware.
How long has DTS been in business?
Since 1999. More than 25 years supporting Indiana businesses through several generations of technology, which is part of why so many clients stay with us for the long haul.
What makes DTS different from other IT providers?
We lead with operations, which means we measure our work by whether your business runs, not by tickets closed. You also get a local team that picks up when you call, and a partner who covers the whole stack, from day-to-day support to security to building the tools you cannot buy off the shelf.
Is DTS a certified minority-owned business (MBE)?
We are, and it is one of the largest MBE-certified IT practices in Indiana. If your organization tracks supplier diversity, working with us counts toward those goals, and we can supply the documentation your reporting needs.
Is DTS a good fit for small businesses?
A good fit, and our usual one. Most of our clients are small and mid-size Indiana organizations rather than large enterprises, and we size the work to the business, so you get enterprise-grade practices scaled to what you actually need.
Can we see reviews or talk to references?
Please do. We hold a 4.9-star rating across 143 Google reviews, and we are glad to connect you with current clients in a situation like yours. Ask during your first conversation and we will set it up.
Managed IT and support
What is managed IT, and what does a managed service provider (MSP) do?
Managed IT means a provider runs and protects your technology for a predictable monthly fee, instead of you calling for help only after something breaks. As your MSP, we monitor your systems continuously, keep them patched and secure, support your people, and plan the roadmap so problems are prevented rather than chased.
What services does DTS offer?
We cover the full stack a growing business needs: managed IT and helpdesk, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 and cloud, business phones, data backup and continuity, and our Advance work in data, automation, and applied AI. Start with managed IT services and cybersecurity to go deeper.
Can DTS work alongside our existing IT team (co-managed IT)?
Yes, and it is one of the most common ways we work. You offload the pieces you choose, from cybersecurity to backup to after-hours coverage, and your internal team stays focused on the work only they can do.
How does day-to-day support work?
You reach a help desk staffed by people who know your environment, by phone, email, or portal, and you get a real person rather than a queue that starts from scratch. Routine issues are handled fast, and anything bigger goes to the engineer who already knows your setup.
How fast do you respond when something goes wrong?
We monitor your systems continuously and resolve many issues before they are ever reported. When you do reach out, a team that already knows your environment responds quickly, so you are not re-explaining your setup every time.
Do you offer on-site support, or is everything remote?
Both. Most issues are solved remotely and fast, and we dispatch a technician on-site when hardware needs hands, whether that is a failed server, a new install, or a problem best handled in person.
Can you support us after hours?
We do. Business does not stop at five o’clock, and our monitoring and support are built around that, with coverage for the deadlines and peak periods that matter to your operation.
Can you support multiple locations and remote workers?
Yes, we design networks, security, and support that span every site and every remote employee, so a person working from a branch office or a kitchen table gets the same protected, reliable experience.
Do you provide IT planning and a technology roadmap?
We do, and we keep a roadmap of what to upgrade, retire, or budget for next, reviewed with you on a regular schedule. The point is to make technology a planned line in your budget rather than a series of surprises.
Microsoft 365, cloud, and phones
Do you manage our Microsoft 365 environment and licensing?
Yes, end to end: provisioning accounts, right-sizing licenses so you are not paying for seats you do not use, and enforcing the security and compliance settings that protect your data.
Can you move us to the cloud and support our cloud apps?
We can, and we plan and run cloud migrations at a pace that does not disrupt your work. We also manage the cloud services you rely on day to day, from file storage to the applications your team lives in.
Do you provide business phone service?
We do, through Microsoft Teams. Your team can call, meet, and message from one place, whether they are in the office or on the road, and we set it up and support it.
Do you manage our network and servers?
Yes, we monitor and maintain the network, servers, and Wi-Fi your business runs on, keep them patched and secure, and size them so performance keeps up as you grow.
Cybersecurity and data protection
What cybersecurity services does DTS provide?
We secure the most common ways an incident reaches a business: email and identity, every device, your network, and your data. That includes monitoring, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, staff security training, and tested backups. See our cybersecurity services.
Does my small business really need cybersecurity?
It does, and the risk is real. Attackers go after small and mid-size organizations precisely because they assume the defenses are thinner, which is what we see across the businesses we work with. The encouraging part is that a handful of well-run controls stop the large majority of incidents, and those are exactly what we put in place.
Do you provide security awareness training for our staff?
Yes, and we make it stick. Most incidents start with a single click, so we train your team to spot phishing and handle data safely, then test that training with simulated attacks.
How do you protect against ransomware and phishing?
We close the common paths in: email and identity security to stop the fraudulent message and the stolen login, protection on every device, and tested backups so a bad day is a recovery rather than a ransom. Staff training backs all of it.
Can you help with cyber insurance and customer security questionnaires?
Yes, and it is a common reason businesses call us. We help you meet the security requirements insurers and customers ask for, put the controls in place, and document the proof, so you are ready when the questionnaire or renewal lands instead of scrambling.
Can you help us meet compliance requirements like HIPAA?
We can. We put the technical safeguards in place, access control, encryption, monitoring, and backups, and keep the documentation so you can show your posture. The compliance decisions stay yours, and we make the technology side handled and provable.
What happens if we get breached?
We help you respond and recover: contain the problem, restore from clean backups, and get you running with as little downtime as possible. We also help you prepare ahead of time, so an incident is a managed event rather than a scramble.
Can you guarantee we will never be hacked?
No honest provider can promise that, and we will not. What we can do is reduce your risk with layered defenses, catch problems early with continuous monitoring, and make sure you can recover quickly if something does get through.
Backup, recovery, and continuity
How does your backup and disaster recovery work?
We run automated, encrypted backups to both on-site and off-site locations, and we test recovery so it works when you need it. If data is lost or a system fails, we restore from a known-good copy with minimal downtime. A backup nobody has tested is only a hope, so we prove ours. See backup and recovery.
How quickly can you get us running after an outage?
That depends on your systems and the recovery targets we set with you. We design backup and recovery to meet the downtime your business can actually tolerate, then test it so the recovery time is real, not theoretical.
Do you help with business continuity planning?
Yes, and it is worth planning before you need it. We help you prepare for the disruptions that take a business offline, from a failed server to a storm, so the people, data, and systems you depend on keep working or come back fast.
Do you offer a security assessment?
We offer one free. Our cyber risk assessment gives you a plain-language read on where you stand and a prioritized list of what to fix first, with no obligation.
AI and modernization
What is Advance, and how does DTS go beyond IT support?
Advance is our work past keeping the lights on: integrating systems that do not talk to each other, building custom software, turning your data into dashboards you can act on, automating manual steps, and applying AI safely. See our Advance work.
Can you help us use AI without exposing our data?
Yes, and keeping it safe is the whole point. You set the policy on what is allowed, and we make it real: enterprise AI configured to keep your data out of public models, data-loss prevention to stop sensitive information from leaving, and the governance to enforce it.
How can AI actually help my business?
The practical wins are in the everyday work: automating the manual steps that eat your team’s time, pulling your data into one place you can act on, and giving your best people tools that make them faster. We focus on amplifying the people you have, not replacing them.
Do you build custom software or integrations?
We do. When off-the-shelf tools do not fit, we build the software or the integration that does, so your systems share data and your team stops re-keying it by hand.
Can you automate manual processes?
Yes, and it is some of our favorite work. We find the repetitive, manual steps that eat your team’s time, the rekeying, the copy-paste, the chase-ups, and automate them, so your people spend their hours on work that needs a person.
Can you turn our data into reporting and dashboards?
We can. We pull the numbers scattered across your systems into one clear view, so you can see how the business is running and decide on current data instead of last month’s spreadsheet.
Industries we serve
What industries does DTS work with?
We work with manufacturers, logistics and 3PL operations, law firms, medical practices, accounting firms, nonprofits, and other Indiana businesses. See who we serve for how we tailor the work to each.
Do you understand our industry’s rules and workflows?
Likely yes. We work across manufacturing, logistics, legal, healthcare, accounting, and nonprofits, so we come in knowing the deadlines, records, and compliance pressures your field lives with, rather than learning them on your time.
Do you support our industry-specific software?
We support the environment your line-of-business software runs on, whether that is an EHR, a warehouse system, or an accounting platform, and we coordinate with your software vendors. We keep that system available, patched, and secure. We do not replace it.
Getting started, pricing, and procurement
How does working with DTS start?
It starts with a short conversation and a focused review of your current setup. We then give you a prioritized roadmap that fixes what matters first and fits your budget. No rip-and-replace, and no changes without your sign-off.
How much do managed IT services cost?
Most managed IT is billed as a predictable monthly fee based on the number of users or devices we support and the services you choose. We give you a clear quote after the initial review, with no long-term surprises, so the cost of your IT is a line you can plan around.
Do you require a long-term contract?
Our agreements are scoped to fit how you operate, and we walk you through the terms in plain language before you commit. Ask during your first conversation and we will lay out the options for your situation, with no pressure.
Can you help us buy hardware and software (procurement)?
We can. We source and procure the computers, servers, and software your business needs, so you get the right equipment at a fair price, set up and ready, without the guesswork of buying it yourself.
How does Sourcewell cooperative purchasing work?
Sourcewell is a cooperative that can simplify purchasing for eligible organizations, such as government, education, and nonprofits. Membership is a step you take on your side, and if it is the right path you can work with DTS through it. We will point you to Sourcewell to confirm eligibility.
